Pen y Bont Touring and Camping Park

Review of Pen y Bont Campsite in Bala Lake

This beautiful location or we should say “park” instead, is a four-star and has a splendid organisation and layout. It is in Snowdonia National Park and not so far from the Bala Lake (about 100 yards), for what outdoor activities are very close to you. Also, the town of Bala is fifteen minutes’ walk.

The whole place covers an extensive surface, making it ideal for a simple tent to even a Motorhome! The park is full of trees, lawn and fresh air. It is perfect to relax, admire and contemplate nature. The surrounding beauties like the Lake Vyrnwy make it even more beautiful.

Beautiful Design

The park is run by a family who offers a warm welcome as well as an excellent service. There are many exciting options. Dogs are welcome. They deserve to take a walk, too! Only be careful to secure him/her while you are in the place.

Also, there is a shop that sells a vast range of camping items and accessories. It offers from tents to fresh local products like eggs, cheese or milk. Also meat and local souvenirs.  Catering is available for large or small groups, though in this last case with arrangement beforehand.

Lots of parking pitches to choose from!

As a particular feature, this park offers a unique alternative of at a reasonable price.

The Gypsy Bow Top and the Little Green Hut. Two beautiful handcrafted gipsy type wagons that will make your holiday peaceful and relaxing. You can experience glamping as if it was in the ancient times, but right here and right now!

Special, romantic and unique!

They have excellent thermal insulation and are suitable for two people. They have lighting and heating, electric outlets, double bed, kettle, cups and glasses for two, mirror.

Outside them, you can make a delicious barbecue where there is also a bench. However, you should bring your towels, bedding, pillows, cutlery, utensils, toiletries, etc. On the other hand, there is the option to hire some items on the site, as well.

Your dog is very welcome! There are a lot of beautiful walks and places of interest to explore. We only ask is to be clean with your pet, and keep your dog on a lead when necessary. As an advantage, we should mention that dogs are allowed on the local transport!

It is highly advisable to read and understand the terms and of the Campsite.

What guests wrote about their wonderful camp experience in Pen y Bont:

Gareth from Newcastle, UK:

“We brought our two children, and we all had a wonderful time. We reserved a big tent with an electric hook, and the price was very reasonable. A beautiful place and impeccably clean camping. The dressing room was spotless, and a small shop, where you can buy the necessary things. We will come here again.”

mer3403 from Leicester, UK:

“We spent several nights on the site on two separate occasions in June 2017. Spotless and well-managed hotel. Excellent facilities and the hotel staff is beneficial. A short walk from Bala and the lake.”

Adi P from Breston, UK:

“Though we are not the best tourists in the world we wanted a place, small and quiet, but a well-equipped, that would allow us to bring two dogs, and this place was perfect. A well laid out and furnished place in Bala, lake and the surrounding hills. The facilities on site were excellent, clean and fairly large to cope with daily busy periods. We faced all sorts of English weather, but we went miles further and enjoyed the local surroundings. In Bala is everything you need, good cafes, bars, etc., most of which allow dogs. If you are looking for a place in this area, do not hesitate and book now!!!”

sharps5 from Wigan, England:

“We checked Pen y Bont after 3-year research in the heat wave on the 16th of June, for three nights living in the campsite. £ 22 a night and £ 4 for three days. Also WiFi for two devices.

An excellent reception desk. £ 70 for only three nights in a beautiful well cared place with furnishings. What else more could you want? Hard-working owners make this place one of my favourite places. It’s not noisy, but we would not say you cannot play music at an acceptable level, or even laugh. Of course, you can! We had another relaxing holiday. To the owners: thank you!”

JoJagiello from Nottingham, UK:

“We booked a room here for two nights with friends who were working at a local mountain bike competition. Therefore, we did not choose a place, and there were no expectations. The location is ideal, in excellent condition, and everything is fine, in my opinion. Compared to a lot of places we were before. The only drawback is that you are a little bit limited. Again not as bad as I had experienced before, but we came with our 3-month-old child, and when he was unhappy, we were very paranoid to disturb others. As a result, we stayed for three nights, because the weather was excellent, and we liked the location. The staff was very kind. It is a pity the mosquitoes, but the owners cannot do much about it!! The dogs are happy here, and Lake Bala is within walking distance. We will return, I’m sure. Thanks for the great vacation!”

Conclusion: The Most beatiful place for camping and glamping

Though the outdoor activities typical of the Bala Lake region are just at hand, this place is somewhat oriented to the camping life, with all its amenities, of course. Offering a clean, comfortable space for you, your children and even your beloved pets. The charming, romantic and very creative way of glamping that the place proposes is unique in its fullest sense. You can find practically everything that you will need for comfortable, relaxed and pleasant camping or glamping experience.
